Every pet owner knows that our furry friends grow up way too fast. From those adorable, clumsy days to the sophisticated senior years, the journey is filled with precious moments. As a photographer, I have the privilege of capturing these unforgettable moments through our pets lives regularly. One of the number one questions I get as a Photographer, is can we bring our dog to our family session? The answer is always YES! Unless the location does not allow. If thats the case honestly lets change to a different place, cause who doesn’t love having dogs around.

Truly i had planned to become a Vet, i worked a clinic from the moment i could get a job. Until shortly after i graduated high school. I love constantly being around animals. They truly are one of the greatest gifts this world has to offer us. And to be honest that is the best part about getting to work from home.

One of the most rewarding aspects of being a photographer is being able to document the different stages of a life. Like humans, pets go through various stages of growth, each with its own unique charm. From the mischievous antics of a playful puppy to the wise and tender gaze of an old soul, every stage captures a different aspect of your pet’s personality. Whether it’s a lively game of fetch, a cuddle session, or a walk in nature. I strive to capture the authentic bond between pets and their families. Embracing the chaos is the key to capturing the true essence of portraits

Pets are unpredictable. That is what makes them so lovable! As a photographer, I adapt to the moment, letting the pet lead the way. Much like little kiddos leading the way at a family session. This approach allows me to capture genuine expressions and candid moments that truly reflect your unique personalities. As a photographer, I have the pleasure of witnessing the love and joy that pets bring to a family. They become an integral part of our lives, offering comfort, companionship, and endless entertainment. By documenting their growth through photography, we create lasting memories that we can cherish for years to come.

I was 18 year old, and i got my first puppy, Axle. First hand i was able to watch him grow. I captured every moment i could. Unfortunately I lost him unexpectedly in 2021. However, I am grateful to have many photos. I want to tell our kid when he is older all about him. But most importantly i want his memory to live on even when i am no longer around to tell the stories.

It brings me comfort to look back on all those portraits of him

After losing him i realized how often families don’t have the opportunity or offers of just getting portraits of their pets as often as i did. When i lost him, i found every image i had taken. Trust me i have no shortage of photos of him. However, there was a specific photo from our 2019 family photos session. This image was captured by Colorado Photographer Sarah Goff

His smile said it all, his truly special and infectious happiness, yet a complete goofball 24/7. His big brown eyes full of wisdom. It was the perfect shot. I proudly have it displayed in our bedroom to constantly be reminded of him. I want other families to have a portrait like that with their pets.
