Sydney’s Open Field Maternity Session

It is so shocking the power of social media and the internet. I could not be more thankful as it allows me to be a full time North Carolina photographer. Sydney and i met through a Facebook post about traveling to North Carolina and my session fell through. I had hoped to re-book someone else. It was super last minute as of course i was in town already so the chances of finding someone were slim to none. But that is when Sydney reached out. Of course the weather was going to be an issue. I played weather person all day that day, which is not abnormal for this line of work.

The weather was not looking good for where we were supposed to go so we improvised. I told Sydney there was this empty field with stunning tall grass next to our hotel. I know that seems sketchy but i promise it will be stunning. She had full faith in me and my talents so we legit captured their photos in an empty field surrounded by hotels. This was Sydney’s second baby. Her first decided to come earlier than expected so she didn’t want to miss out on the opportunity of photos. Often in the thought of maternity photos people only think of moms. But that is not the case always. While some moms just want to be highlighted in this amazing moment, others want to capture as a family. Capturing these moments in time as a family, before your life grows with a bundle of joy, is personally my favorite. Pregnancy and the process of it is truly a miracle and is so insanely special. I also believe it is a very intimate thing that should be captured. It very well can be a once in a lifetime experience. So be sure to capture it!
